xento joy of week home made products visually impaired

As the festival of lights approached this year, Xentians contributed towards lighting up the homes of several visually impaired individuals through their generous purchases. A fortnight prior to Diwali, Xento celebrated the Joy of Giving week or Daan Utsav, on the 5th and 6th of October 2017, by inviting NGO’s working for the visually impaired to put up stalls in our premises.

Sunrise candles, Mahableshwar and Niwant Andh Mukta Vikasalay, Pune participated in this event and put up a beautiful display of candles and chocolates, made by visually impaired persons. While Sunrise candles employs over 80 visually challenged people in their factory at Mahableshwar, the department of Choco-Niwant at the organization works as a skill development centre and part time earning for students who come for coaching classes to Niwant. continue

Xento Xalt Value Theme Day 2017

At Xento it is significant for us to create a firm bond of values with its employees. We take initiative to continue reinforce values that will unite our workforce and help achieve goals. It is imperative for us to engage our employees and ensuring that it plays a vital role in our work culture. Xento strives hard to pioneer in practicing these values, a perfect reason why each year we celebrate our belief system. On 8th August 2017, Xento celebrated its Value theme day, an organization-wide event that brought our Xentian together to celebrate, cherish and continue to carry forward these principles. With the announcement of its value theme day celebrations, one could easily feel the excitement bubbling in air, as this time it was not just a celebration but a competition among our fellow co-workers to outdo each other. A healthy contest that would help to showcase their flair in depicting the essence and spirit of our conviction with which Xento functions. Hence the preparations for this theme day began a week prior with great gusto. continue

THE SELF DEFENCE WORKSHOP

Self-Defence-Training-for-woman-employees-at-Xento

A woman that can keep her personal safety, travels a longer distance. The journey to stay safe begins with learning and spreading awareness, prevention, and risk avoidance strategies. Xento recently organized a self-defence workshop to enlighten our women employees on basic self-defense techniques. The workshop was guided by Ms. Suvarna Ruikar (20 years experienced in karate).

While strength is good, balance is better; quickness is important, but timing is critical.

The two days self-defence training program worked amazingly. It prepared our employees of all the situations that could arise for which they would have no response. The workshop included some safety strategies and understanding how to fight back against a physical attack. It also gave participants the opportunity to perform the defense techniques with each other. We are happy to have received a stunning acknowledgment from all the participants in regard to this session.

Keep defending!

Where there is excellence, explanations are not required

Be The Real Deal

Excellence is self-explanatory. Where there is excellence, explanations are not required. Where explanations are given, we rarely find excellence.

What’s okay is okay and what’s not okay is not okay. However, we have a tendency to explain, justify, and give reasons to prove things as okay when they are really not. Hold it. It’s not good for our healthy mind to behave in this way. Once we develop this tendency of using our mind to make what’s not okay to look okay, we press our own self-destruction button. The mind that gets trained into justifying lack of excellence, learns to settle for compromises – it learns to live with compromises.

If we have scored 88 out of 100, the fact remains that we are short by 12. Whichever communication we try, we cannot make up for the 12. We shouldn’t try to justify that 88 as 100. Instead we should figure out what caused 12 less and try to learn from it. Explanations can never make up for the shortfall. Losers make excuses and explanations. continue
